Chef Umut Karakuş’s culinary journey is as impressive as his menu. Raised in a culinary family, Karakuş graduated from Le Cordon Bleu’s culinary and pastry department, and pioneered Anatolian cuisine and modern aperitif projects in London. In 2017, he took an important step in the world of gastronomy by establishing Turkey’s first spice library and was named the most creative chef of the year. He adopted the concept of sustainability and innovation in his first Muutto restaurant in Kadıköy Moda, and continued this vision in his new branch in Galataport.

Chef Karakuş, who has been focusing on Turkish spices and waste-free cuisine for the past seven years, also contributes to the world of gastronomy by providing training. Inspired by his grandmother’s approach to zero-waste cuisine, his recipes are combined with a zero-waste philosophy, reflecting an eco-friendly approach on every plate.
